Biography
Dr. Young received her Ph.D. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Iowa, and her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Spanish for the Professional Use from Augustana College. After completing her doctoral studies, she joined the department of Communication Disorders at NMSU in the fall of 2024. Dr. Young is a certified speech-language pathologist, and her area of clinical and research interest is stuttering. In addition to teaching the graduate course in stuttering, she teaches Speech Sound Disorders, Phonetics, and Speech Disorders Across the Lifespan.
