Biography

Dr. Stone holds a PhD in Speech and Hearing Science from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a BM in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He joined the Department of Communication Disorders as an assistant professor in the Spring of 2026. Dr. Stone’s research focuses on the acoustics and biomechanics of typical and disordered voice production. He teaches courses on Voice Disorders, Dysphagia, and Speech Science.

 

Areas of interest

Dr. Stone is interested in acoustic correlates to the perception of dysphonic voices, disordered voice perception in individuals with hearing loss, and feedback and feedforward motor controls of vocal fold adduction.
