- Parent emotional support groups - Caregiver exhaustion is high when raising a child on the spectrum. Groups are to help caregivers take care of their emotions and rely on the support of others going through similar situations. Please refer to the Events Calendar for information about support group dates and time. If you need childcare in order to participate in a group, please contact the ADC about respite care services.
- New diagnosis groups - This group is for anyone needing support with the emotional roller coaster that often comes along with having a child diagnosed with autism. Content of the group will be matched to the needs of the members, but may include information about autism, understanding available resources, and emotional support.
- Teen social groups – The ADC uses the PEERS curriculum developed at UCLA for improving social skills for young people with autism. The group will also focus on relationship skills and positive leisure activities. Teens must have enough independence to attend without an aid.
