RUBI Parent Training for Disruptive Behaviors Curriculums is being offered to support families of children with ASD in the state of New Mexico. RUBI was developed by Dr. Karen Bearss and colleagues. It has been extensively researched through randomized clinical trials, showing great effectiveness in reducing challenging behaviors and increasing adaptive functioning in children.

RUBI is rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and seeks to work directly with parents and guardians in developing the tools to manage their child’s challenging behaviors at home and in the community. Challenges that can be addressed by RUBI include, but are not limited to, non-compliance, tantrums, and mild aggression. Caregivers interested in RUBI can expect about 16 weeks of treatment to cover 11 core sessions targeting behavioral principles, skill-building, and behavioral management. During that time, supplemental sessions may be explored targeting a number of common concerns for families from toileting to picky eating. RUBI has been shown to be effective when delivered in face-to-face, telehealth, individual, and small group formats. <updated RUIB flyers here>
