National Student Speech Language Hearing Association

Welcome to the New Mexico State University NSSLHA chapter! We are a pre-professional organization that provides opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students in the Communication Disorders Program here at NMSU. NSSLHA is active within the campus and is involved in various community service events throughout the year. NSSLHA gives members the opportunity to network with their peers and professors.

Membership to the national chapter of NSSLHA requires a student to be registered in a program related to communication sciences, such as NMSU’s Communication Disorders degree plan. National membership is open to students ranging from the undergraduate to the doctoral level.

Become a Member

In order to have the full access to our chapter, you will need to fill out a membership from and pay a fee.

To become a member, you will need to follow these easy and simple steps:

Pick out a cost to pay
1. Half a semester: $12.50
2. Full year: $25 (does not transfer over to the next school year if paid for during the Spring semester)
Send your payment to our treasurer through either PayPal or Cash App
1. Cash App: $NMSUNSSLHA
2. PayPal: treasurernsslha@gmail.com
Before sending your payment, in the DESCRIPTION BOX, please add:
1. First and Last name
2. Year
3. NMSU email
After sending your membership form and payment, you will be added to our NMSU NSSLHA Canvas and become a member!
You will have to earn 10pts throughout the school year to be considered a full member, so participate in as much as you can!

Cards for Raul

Raul Madrid

Within our chapter, we have the privilege to volunteer with amazing people. One we take dearly is our fantastic and talented friend, Raul. Raul is 65 diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. He understands everything around him and uses an AAC device to help him communicate or use his right foot to answer. Raul has a talent and love for painting with his feet! He loves to create art and make cards. With the help of volunteers, he can create and sell his art. He is selling 8 cards for $20. If you are interested in purchasing, please contact our VP of Activities (vpofactivitiesnsslha@gmail.com) for more information. Raul also accepts donations and that can be completed with sending your amount to our NSSLHA Cash App ($NMSUNSSLHA) or PayPal (treasurernsslha@gmail.com) and adding 'Raul Donation' in the description box.
